Cutera ExcelV+ Laser Genesis is a gentle, no downtime laser for all skin types. It can treat acne, redness, enlarged pores, uneven skin texture, skin laxity and reduce fine wrinkles by stimulating collagen.

Laser Genesis uses a micro-pulsed 1064nm laser that heats collagen and small blood vessels.

The laser stimulates collagen which reduces pore size, fine wrinkles and gives a healthy glow.

Redness and rosacea are reduced by gently collapsing unwanted micro blood vessels in the skin surface. The heat from Laser Genesis also kills acne causing bacteria.

Laser Genesis can heat up the disorganised collagen in acne scars and allow it to smooth out. 

This treatment delivers gentle laser light into the deeper dermal layers of the skin. Laser Genesis can be used as a preventive anti-aging treatment.

To improve results further, Laser Genesis can be combined with a gentle hydrating peel or with dermaplaning (epiblading).

Laser Genesis is suitable for all skin types and tones.

Laser Genesis is most commonly used on the face, neck and décolletage. However, this treatment can be administered just about anywhere on the body. We also often treat hands, forearms, and chest.

Laser Genesis treatment will feel warm but there are no sharp or painful sensations. Most people find the procedure very relaxing and liken the sensation to hot drops of water.

Your Laser Genesis appointment will be about 30 minutes. If you have upgraded your session to include a peel, dermaplaning or your neck and decolletage then it can take up to 50 minutes.

For best results, Laser Genesis requires 4 to 8 treatment sessions spaced 2 to 6 weeks apart. If only one or 2 sessions are done, results may not be noticeable or may not last long.

Sun protection is essential after laser and you need to be strict about it for at least 2 weeks.

You can wear makeup and return to normal activities immediately. Mild redness and/or swelling can be expected following treatment.

Sun protection is essential leading up to your treatment. Avoid the sun and wear sunscreen for at least 2 weeks before your treatment.

For 5 days before treatment avoid active ingredients such as AHA/BHA and retinoids.

If the treatment area is covered in visible hair it will need to be shaved. For men, this means a very close shave just before treatment.

Once we have completed a full skin and health consultation we will prepare your skin by cleansing off any makeup and skincare products that you have on your face (or treatment area). To completely remove any remnants of products we may use an alcohol swap over your skin. If you are sensitive to alcohol on your skin, please let us know before your treatment.

Protective goggles are placed over your eyes which will remain on until the treatment is finished.

Once the laser treatment commences you will feel a soft, warm sensation over your skin. There is no pain with Laser Genesis treatment.

The laser technician will treat each section of your face separately, one after the other.

The treatment will take about 20 minutes. Most clients find it very relaxing and comfortable.

Directly after treatment your skin will feel hot and will appear flushed. This will subside soon after your session.

Before finishing we will apply sunscreen (if needed) and rebook you for your next session.

If you need to you can put makeup on directly after your treatment as Laser Genesis is a non-ablative laser, meaning it does not disrupt the surface of your skin. You can return to normal activities directly after your session.

It takes time for the full results to develop, and you will need to complete the full recommended course to see significant changes. But many patients see an immediate improvement after just one or two sessions. This has earned ExcelV+ a reputation as the laser that impresses.
