Barely there enhancement
This technique tastefully & carefully accentuates your existing lip shape. Your lips will have a precise fullness & hydration that feels soft. It is great for first-timers or mature patients. We use fine needles to add volume & shape in a way that is customised to your lip anatomy. This technique minimises the risk of migration/spread & has a much lower chance of bruising.

Heart shaped lips
Our heart shaped lip technique aims to accentuate the cupid’s bow & give full lips with a well-defined lip border. The technique keeps the product to the middle portion of the lips to avoid the lips looking like sausages or a trout pout. We can increase vertical height & give volume without causing duck-like forward projection.

Russian lip technique
The Russian Lip Technique uses a fine needle to increase the vertical height of the upper & lower lip while minimising forwards “ducky” projection. Russian Lips accentuate the cupid’s bow & give a crisp lip border. Russian lip technique works best on those with no or minimal previous treatment. If you have a lot of existing product in or around your lips, it can limit the effect of the Russian Lip. We strongly recommend dissolving any built-up product 4 weeks prior (we can do this with minimal discomfort; the fee is $300). Russian Lips have a more dramatic look & less subtle look than other lip techniques. We can vary how pronounced the look is to match it to your features & taste. Generally, the Russian Lip Technique suits those who have larger eyes, are younger or have naturally full lips.

Mature lip restoration
This is not just about the lips. As we age, the skin around our lips can suffer. We get vertical lip lines due to increased muscle activity & thinning skin. Volume loss in the mouth corners causes our mouth corners to fall. Treating only the lips will highlight these other issues & look strange. We take a holistic approach to restoring the lips & area around them. Local anaesthetic, numbing cream & ice are used to maximise comfort to these sensitive areas. A combination of dermal & wrinkle products is used to soften perioral lines (lines around the lips). Next, the shape of the lips is given definition before soft volume is gently provided. Repeat treatment is recommended 4-6 months later to give the best results.

Swelling is the most common side effect for lips and will happen to almost everyone. It can initially be a bit a of a shock if it is your first time getting your lips done. Initially it may look unnatural due to the swelling but this will fade over 2-6 days leaving a lovely natural looking lip enhancement. Swelling can be reduced by using a cold pack afterwards. Bruising may happen to about 1 in 20 people. This may last around a week and is usually very small in size.
Migration is a risk for lip treatments. Lips muscles are strong & move a lot. This can cause product to spread to unwanted areas over time, or form lumps. Some techniques may have a higher risk of causing migration. We can treat lip migration by dissolving any product that has spread. The risk of spread can be reduced by using certain treatment techniques, not overdoing the lips, and using wrinkle treatments to give a lip flip at the time of treatment. Lumps may be an issue for 1 in 20 people. If any bumps persist we can easily fix this. The thicker the lip product used – the lumpier and less natural looking the result will be.
Infection is an extremely rare risk of lip treatments, but can be treated with antibiotics. We have never had any cases of infection. Vascular occlusion is the most serious complication related to this treatment, but is extremely rare (less than 100,000 to 1). Our doctor is on-call to deal with any emergencies like this and our team is trained in complications management. We have an excellent safety record & have not had any vascular occlusions.

Individual results & longevity of treatments will vary a lot from person to person. This is due to our unique anatomy and physiology. We use high quality and long-lasting products. Lips are very vascular & move a lot. This means lip products spread around over time and do not last as long. Lips will last 6-18 months for most people; If your lips are smaller, tighter, or curl inwards then it is likely to last a shorter amount of time.

Most clinics market their products options according to how thin or thick it is. The thickness of a product determines how much volume it gives & how firm it is (allowing it to support more pressure). Thickness of the product does not necessarily predict how long it will last. Using an ultra-thick or hard product in the lips can cause lumps, duck lips and look very unnatural – it also won’t last any longer.

Unwanted spread or migration of lip enhancements is caused by muscle movement & pressure over time. It is fairly common with lips. Migration can cause lumps, puffiness, asymmetry, and blurring of the lip border. If you have lip migration we can dissolve it for you. We have to wait at least 2-4 weeks before treating that area again. Our fee for filler dissolving is $300.

Most people go straight back to their scheduled activities after lip treatment. Your lips will initially be very swollen and a little sore. The swelling can make your lips look a little inflated at first but will fade quickly. Lip swelling will be noticeable straight after the procedure and last 2-5 days before fading & looking nice. Bruising is possible for all treatments so please keep this in mind. The areas treated will be tender for 1 to 3 days afterwards. Swelling can be reduced by a cold pack. You will be given detailed instructions after your treatment.
