Preparing for your appointment

Arriving to your appointment

If it’s your first time at our clinic, please visit this page to familiarise yourself with our location and parking options. Please arrive 10 minutes early to your appointment to complete the intake forms.

If you are more than 10 minutes late, we may not be able to see you, and you could lose your deposit. If you are running late, please give us a call or text so that we can try to find ways to accommodate you without having to reschedule.

We welcome accompanying children; however, we kindly request that they remain quiet and occupy themselves during appointments to ensure a safe and focused environment for all our practitioners. For eye safety, children are not allowed into our laser treatment room. Thank you for your understanding.

Consultation Appointments

For consult appointments, no special preparation is required. Any side effects or risks of treatment will be discussed during the consult. If you think you may potentially like to get treatment at your consultation please follow the instructions below.

Injectable Treatments

For injectable appointments please wear no makeup (if possible) and avoid alcohol, fish oil and ibuprofen for 48 hours prior (to reduce bruising risk). If you are very anxious, needle-phobic or a fainter, please let us know in advance so we can better accommodate you.

Skin & Laser Treatments

  • If possible, please don’t wear makeup to your appointment.
  • Avoid UV (sun) exposure for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Apply SPF 50+ daily.
  • Discontinue use of any retinoids 5 days prior to treatment, unless advised otherwise.
  • Any raised lesions CANNOT be treated with Laser unless written approval is received by your doctor.
  • Do not use fake tan on the area being treated for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Areas treated with botulinum toxin or dermal filler must be completely healed (no swelling, bruising, redness or discomfort) with a minimum of 2 weeks after treatment.
  • For Laser Genesis if there’s visible or dark hair present in the treatment area, please shave it before treatment.
  • Do not have facial waxing or laser hair removal (anything that will cause trauma to the skin) 48-72 hours before treatment. Shaving is okay.
  • If you’re on antibiotics that increase photosensitivity, you will need to wait at least 2 weeks after completing your course.

Treatment Risks

Please familiarise yourself with the risks associated with your treatment. These will be explained to you during your consultation prior to treatment.

Anti-Wrinkle/ Muscle Relaxant

Possible risks and side effects.

  • Chance of bruising – Usually minor and can be concealed with makeup.

  • Swelling, redness and soreness over injection sites. Usually, fade within 1 hour but can last a few days in rare cases. There is an extremely rare risk of allergic reactions.

  • Chance of temporary facial asymmetry (like brow spocking) – can be quickly fixed at no extra cost to you.

  • Chance of heaviness in brow when forehead is treated – often in those with excess skin around the upper eyes – we can adjust the dosage and injection points to manage this.

  • Risk of smile flattening, an uneven smile, or dry eyes when treating around the lower part of eyes (lower crow’s feet). Can be reduced by using lighter doses there.

  • 1 in 100 risk of headaches or fatigue – usually resolves within a day, but rarely can persist for up to 2 weeks.

  • 1 in 5000 risk of temporary eyelid droop or dry eyes. May occur when treating frown or around the eyes. Avoid pressing on your face for 6 hours to reduce risk.

  • 1 in 100,000 chance of a skin infection – treated with antibiotics.

  • Duration of results is on average 3 months, but can be significantly shorter or longer depending on your physiology. We cannot guarantee how long the therapeutic effect will last.

  • There is the risk you may not like your results. The final outcome cannot be predicted with 100% certainty due to individual variations in muscle configuration and drug response. We cannot offer refunds, but are able to offer retreatment (review) or adjustments if necessary (max 3 weeks post treatment). The effects of botulinum toxin type A cannot be reversed but will wear off over time.

  • There is a limit of 1 review session after each paid treatment. The review must done between 2-3 weeks post treatment.

Dermal Filler

Possible risks and side effects.

  • Swelling is very common and often worse in the 2 days after treatment. It will subside over the following week. This is most noticeable in the lips and jaw areas. Your results can appear asymmetrical while still swollen. There is a rare risk of fillers or local anaesthetics causing allergic reactions.

  • Bruising and tenderness are common and can last for about 2 weeks. Bruises can be concealed with makeup or treated with hirudoid cream.

  • Risk of dermal filler migration to adjacent areas – this is common in lips and nasolabial folds due to the tension and movement in these areas. We offer dissolving for migrated filler.

  • Around the eyes, there is a risk of puffiness or a blue tinge. Filler can be dissolved to reverse this.

  • Risk of small lumps. Usually due to muscle movement, but can be from an immune reaction. Massage may fix this or filler can be dissolved.

  • 1 in 100,000 chance of a skin infection – easily treated with antibiotics.

  • 1 in 100,000 risk of filler blocking an artery (vascular occlusion). This needs to be dissolved, or it can lead to soft tissue death. One in every five million cases may be at risk of permanent vision loss in one eye or stroke-like symptoms. We take every care to minimise the risk, but there is still some risk. Careful injection technique and usage of a cannula greatly reduces (but does not eliminate) this risk. Certain areas are at higher risk for this complication (such as around the nose, temples, brow and forehead).

  • There is the risk you will not like your results – each person is different, and results will vary. It is not possible to predict the final outcome with 100% certainty. We cannot offer refunds, but filler can be reversed with hyaluronidase (dissolver) if you don’t like the outcome or change your mind.

  • Dissolving filler will cause temporary filler tissue deflation, hollowness or wrinkling and can impair skin appearance. This is expected to go back to normal within 2 to 3 weeks. We can reinject fillers after 4 weeks. Using hyaluronidase has a rare risk of anaphylaxis or allergic reaction (especially if you’re allergic to bees).

Laser Genesis

Possible risks.

  • Swelling, redness and soreness over the treated area. Usually resolves over 1 to 7 days.
  • Rare risk of burning to the treated area.

  • Chance that the skin issue will not fully resolve or may not respond to treatment.

  • Risk that the skin issue will recur. Skin is a living tissue, and unwanted conditions or skin lesions can grow back over time.

  • Risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) with any treatment that delivers heat to the skin. This is a higher risk if you have darker skin or have a history of skin pigment issues. We will assess your risk and take precautions to minimise this risk.

  • 1 in 100,000 chance of a skin infection – treated with antibiotics.

  • Duration of results for the treatments depending on your physiology and lifestyle. We cannot guarantee how long the therapeutic effect will last.

  • There is the risk you may not like your results. The final outcome cannot be predicted with 100% certainty due to individual variations in skin configuration and therapy response. We cannot offer refunds, but are able to offer retreatment if deemed necessary.
