Cutera ExcelV+ Vascular Laser Spider Vein FAQ
The Cutera ExcelV+ Vascular Laser is an advanced medical device designed to target and treat spider veins. By delivering precise laser energy, it selectively coagulates blood vessels, effectively diminishing the appearance of spider veins on the skin.
The Cutera ExcelV+ Vascular Laser uses a specialised 532nm wavelength of light. It precisely targets hemoglobin in blood vessels beneath the skin’s surface. The laser energy is absorbed by the hemoglobin, leading to controlled heating and subsequent coagulation of the blood vessels. Over time, the treated vessels are naturally eliminated by the body, reducing the visibility of vascular concerns like spider veins.
Cutera ExcelV+ is suitable for all skin types and tones.
While the ExcelV+ Vascular Laser is effective for treating various vascular concerns, not all veins can be treated with this method. The laser is particularly suited for smaller, superficial veins such as spider veins or certain facial veins less than 3mm in width and are blue or purple in colour. This treatment is not suitable for raised veins or varicose veins.
The ExcelV+ Vascular Laser treatment is versatile and can be used on various areas of the body. Commonly treated areas include the face, legs, and other body regions where vascular concerns like spider veins are present.
The level of discomfort experienced during ExcelV+ Vascular Laser treatment can vary from person to person. Generally, patients report feeling a sensation similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin during the laser pulses. Many find the discomfort manageable, and the procedure is typically well-tolerated. However, individual pain thresholds may differ, and we often use cooling methods or topical numbing agents to enhance comfort.
Your appointment will be about 30 minutes. This will include the consultation and treatment.
The number of sessions required for ExcelV+ Vascular Laser treatment can vary depending on several factors, including the size and severity of the vascular concern, individual skin characteristics, and treatment goals. In many cases, patients may see improvement after just one session. However, a series of treatments, typically ranging from 1 to 3 sessions, may be recommended to achieve optimal results.
Best results are seen with multiple treatments:
1 session – $299
3 sessions – $549
6 sessions – $889
The downtime associated with ExcelV+ Vascular Laser treatment is often minimal. Patients may experience some redness, swelling, or bruising in the treated area immediately after the procedure, but these side effects are generally temporary and resolve within a few days to a week.
Many individuals find they can resume their normal activities immediately after the treatment. However, it’s advisable to follow all post-care instructions provided, including avoiding direct sunlight and using sunscreen to protect the treated area.
It’s crucial to follow the following instructions prior to treatment:
